15 Coastal Kitchen Designs I Love

Coastal interior design has to be one of my favourite styles. Only few evoke a sense of calm and relaxation quite like coastal designs. Whether you're drawn to breezy colour palettes, natural textures, or subtle touches of seaside living, coastal interiors have the ability to make everyday moments feel like an escape. In this post, I’m excited to share my 15 favourite coastal kitchens that capture the essence of coastal charm—offering inspiration for those dreaming of bringing a bit of the beach into their home. From light-filled spaces to classic coastal touches, these kitchens showcase how versatile and stunning coastal design can be!

1/ Blue kitchen island and rattan elements

This first kitchen is a classic coastal design. I especially love the pale blue colour on the island that pairs beautifully with the grey tones in the marble countertops. Together, they create a fresh and breezy look. The bar stools, rattan pendant lights and jute rug add a touch of warmth and some contrast to the space.

2/ Classic coastal look

This second kitchen space has more of a traditional, classic coastal look with the powder blue paint colour on the island creating a subtle contrast against the crisp white cabinets and countertops. I love this colour combination for an overall look that is fresh, bright, and relaxing.

3/ Blue cabinets and white shiplap

This kitchen design perfectly captures the essence of coastal charm with its light blue cabinets, white shiplap on the walls, and rattan elements to add a subtle touch of warmth. The space feels cosy yet airy and makes us want to spend hours cooking our favourite meals or share family memories.

4/ Blue backsplash against crisp white cabinets

If you don’t want to paint your cabinets, another way to add a coastal touch to your kitchen space is by adding blue tiles to your backsplash. Here, the space feels very bright and airy. The wicker bar stools and timber floors add some warmth while the pendant lights and brass hardware add a touch of elegance and luxury.

5/ Timber all around

This kitchen space feels very warm and inviting thanks to the timber used on the island, range hood, and ceiling. Various details such as the rattan pendant lights and pale blue kitchen stools add a subtle coastal vibe.

6/ Blue-green kitchen cabinets

If you prefer a more subtle approach to coastal design, consider using a blue-green paint colour instead of pure blue. In this design, a blue-green paint colour has been used on the cabinets and contrasts beautifully with the crisp white backsplash and countertops. The brass accents add a touch of elegance while the wooden elements add warmth and a natural touch.

7/ Modern coastal design

Coastal design doesn’t always mean blue. For example, check out this absolutely gorgeous modern coastal kitchen all painted in crisp white. The space feels very airy and bright. The timber elements in the kitchen island, floating shelves, and kitchen stools add some warmth and help create a space that feels inviting, serene, and relaxing.
