Do you ever look around at home and feel like you need to change something? Or do you ever feel bored of your interior, looking at the same décor items, same colours, textures, every day? Now might be the perfect time to change.

You don’t need thousands of dollars to update your interior. You can paint your walls a different colour, change your cushion covers, buy some new décor accessories, or do a bit of DIY on your existing furniture to give it a brand-new and refreshed look. All you have to do is pick a style, choose a colour, and start redecorating.

Usually synonym of peace and tranquility, adding the colour green to your interior can really transform the feel of a space. Paint your walls in a darker hue for added drama, or go for a lighter shade like sage or mint green for more serenity.

Is green your favourite colour? Are you wanting to reconnect with nature, bring the outside in? Or are you simply looking to change the feel of your interior? No matter your reasons, you are in the right place.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you add green to your interior.

Paint your walls

If you are looking to change the entire look of your interior, paint your walls a different colour. Don’t be scared. However, before you start, make sure to grab samples of different shades, apply them on your walls and leave them for about a week. This will give you enough time to look at the different shades throughout the day and help you pick your favourite paint colour.

Now, the right shade depends on the vibe you want to give your interior. If you want a moody vibe, or add some drama or intensity to your space, go for a darker shade of green.

The paint colours featured in the photos above are Vintage Vogue by Benjamin Moore, Briar from Dulux, and Essex Green by Benjamin Moore. These are perfect if you want a moody and cosy interior.

However, if you are after a more relaxing, serene and peaceful vibe, you should opt for a lighter shade of green such as sage or mint green.

Wallpaper

If you want to add a bit more drama to your room and create an eye-catching interior, opt for wallpaper. You can apply it on all your walls, or on just one wall to create an accent feature. You can also add it on a part of your wall in order to delimit a specific space or function in a space. Take a look at these inspiration pictures below.

Accent furniture

Repainting your walls is not always possible, especially if you are renting. Another option to bring some colour in your interior is through accent pieces of furniture. Take a look below at some furniture we found and we love for ideas.

Dark green velvet chair by Ikea

We love these two accent chairs. They can both bring a lot of character to a room. The first one is a beautiful velvet armchair in Russian sage colour that would go perfectly in a contemporary interior. The velvet definitely brings comfort and texture to the space. This chair will for sure catch your guests’ eye. The second accent chair is in a more traditional style. We love the dark green and the velvet fabric.
